After receiving a VHS tape claiming she's a disciple of an alien species known as the "True Mothers," Amy joins a local UFO cult, donning the name Celisse and befriending a number of other members while under the watch of the cult's peculiar founder, Ascensia.
One day in the near future, gravity reverses. The whole world is turned upside down. The oceans lift to the skies, and a majority of humanity is lost forever to space. Few remain in the world after the flip, and they risk their lives scavenging to find food and water in order to survive.
Sam Gurry is an interdisciplinary artist living in Los Angeles working primarily in the moving image. Their films untether the restrictions between documentary, animation, and imagined realities. Sam’s work has been in the official selection at the TIFF, SXSW, Slamdance, IFFR, and Ottawa Animation Festival amongst others. Sam holds an MFA in Experimental Animation from the California Institute of the Arts.
