A new "Variety Show Special" starring one of the world's most exciting new artists, plus special guests Romy (The xx), Dave Okumu and Glass Animals. Including first ever performances from Parks' acclaimed debut album 'Collapsed In Sunbeams', the film features conversations, poetry and collaborations, all existing in a magical world of iconic, stylish and gradually unravelling environments.
The XX drew what seemed like biggest crowd the Bestival 2012 weekend, and it isn't difficult to see why. The band stuck to their guns—they don't beef up their trademark muted sound at all. Even an impromptu rendition of Jamie's XX's dance single, "Far Nearer," was wrapped in a feeling of melancholy. Put simply, The XX make great music and Bestival 2012 was a good as place as any to show it.
Romy Madley Croft who releases solo music as Romy, is an English musician. She is the guitarist and co-vocalist of the xx, and she released a solo album, Mid Air, in 2023.
