A 13-year-old refugee from Afghanistan living in an emergency shelter in Germany joins a Christian boys' choir to save his father who was left stranded in Hungary, and clashes with the strict choir master.
The "breeder" is a psychopath with an unusual hobby: he keeps dogs and small children in kennels. On the short leash, he also has the fallen "catcher" - a guy with gambling debt who has to turn his conscience off when he goes hunting for his boss. But there's something wrong with that last catch. What the catcher doesn't know: the kidnapped boy is a vampire. And he's not the only one men get in trouble with - because there's also "Popsy". And he doesn't like that his boy was kidnapped.
Nina and Mark wish for years in vain a child. An adoption is out of the question for them, they would like to have their "own" child. Euphorically, Nina and Mark travel to their foreign country. Everything seems perfect at first, the doctor Kamalika acts competent and in the young Shanti they quickly find the right surrogate mother for their desired baby. But in the nine months to the birth they begin to wonder if the decision was right.
40 tons is no burden for Bruno. When he climbs into his truck and drives along Brandenburg's roads, he feels free. It's different at home. Bruno is a good husband. And a loving father. But the burden of family life weighs heavily on his shoulders. As often as he can, he escapes to his driver's cab. Then Ricky crosses his path. The film is set in Berlin in 1965. Τhe old woman welcomes the Commissioner at her doorstep with the words “I have been waiting for you for 30 years”. She has been maintaining for years the grave, where now by accident, this skull was found. The skull, has a rusty nail in it. In a long monologue, the woman confesses for the first time, her tragic life story.
