Wake, Rattle, and Roll is a live-action/animated television show produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions and Four Point Entertainment that premiered in the fall of 1990. The show's title was inspired by the song "Shake, Rattle and Roll". After its single season on the air in syndication, Wake, Rattle, and Roll moved exclusively to The Disney Channel under the title Jump, Rattle, and Roll. It has also been screened on Network Ten in Australia while the animated segments were broadcast on ITV in the UK as part of the short running Saturday morning children's programme TV Mayhem.

Kissyfur is a 1980s animated children's television series which aired on NBC. It was produced by Jean Chalopin & Andy Heyward and created by Phil Mendez for DIC. The series was based on a half-hour NBC prime-time special called Kissyfur: Bear Roots and was followed by three more specials until its Saturday morning debut. The show ran for two seasons. The show follows the adventures of Gus and Kissyfur, a father and son bear duo who had joined the circus. One day on a circus trip, the train they are riding in derails and the bears escape to a new life in the swamps of Paddlecab County. There, they protect the local swamp's inhabitants from the local bumbling alligators Floyd and Jolene. Kissyfur and his father use the skills they have acquired from the human world to create a boat tour business transporting other animals and their products down the river.

The series stars Ed Asner and Eileen Brennan and was originally directed by Noam Pitlik. Its taping location was the Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California. It was canceled after six regular episodes and 1 half-hour pilot, which aired as a special on December 7, 1984. Off the Rack premiered as a regular series in the middle of the 1984-1985 television season as a mid-season replacement on ABC on the same day as Mr. Belvedere. Writer Lissa Levin and director Noam Pitlik would go on to work for that series, following Off the Rack's cancellation.
