An abusive and neglectful husband from Los Angeles tries to keep his life under control until his wife's best friend comes to town from New York and needs a place to stay. After a night of hard drinking Stu finds himself in the arms of the law. After his confinement Stu has a new circle of friends and new habits which change his life forever. Stu is then left with a choice to destroy his new life or forget the ways of the past.
